  Biography

Liping Qian received her BEng degree in Information Engineering from Zhejiang University in 2004, and Ph.D degree from Department of Information Engineering, The Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2010 (Supervisor: Prof. Angela Yingjun Zhang). She is currently a postdoctoral in the Department of Information Engineering at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. From June to August 2009, she was a visiting student at Princeton University (Prof. Mung Chiang’s Group).

Liping has won the prestigious, annual IEEE Marconi Prize Paper Award in Wireless Communications for her paper, “MAPEL: Achieving global optimality for a non-convex power control problem", which appeared in the 2009 March issue of IEEE Transactions on Wireless Communications. Papers are judged and evaluated on originality, utility, timeliness, and clarity of presentation by the IEEE Communications Society and the IEEE Signal Processing Society.

Her major research interests lie in the areas of wireless communication and networking, including adaptive resource allocation, stochastic control, global optimization and reinforcement learning for wireless ad hoc networks and multicarrier communication systems. If you want more about her, please check her CV.
